Product Description

One-Piece construction cooler is streamlined design with an integrated five-layer construction, discarding superfluous pockets to enhance insulation duration. The lining of the SEALOCK 24cans Waterproof Soft-Sided Cooler Bag is made of food-grade, leak-proof PEVA insulated liner. When used with ice cubes, it can keep items cool for more than 48 hours (Note: The actual cold-keeping time will be affected by the ambient temperature and the amount of ice cubes used)

Product Description

SL-I146 is a 24-can soft-sided cooler measuring 36 × 24 × 33 cm externally and weighing 1.45 kg empty. The shell is a 0.5 mm TPU laminate over a 500D polyester base cloth; the inner liner is food-grade TPU formed as a single high-frequency welded bucket with no stitch holes below the zip line. Between the two sits 12 mm of closed-cell PE foam on all six faces, including the lid, which is what gives the bag its self-standing box shape when empty. The opening runs the full width of the black top panel and closes with an airtight zip fitted with a T-pull; a padded hook-and-loop sleeve wraps the two carry handles together and sits directly over the closed zip line. The body carries 25 mm webbing handles that run under the base and up both faces, a side grab handle, moulded D-rings at the upper corners for the removable padded shoulder strap, and a welded zip pocket on the front panel for keys, a phone or a bottle opener. Capacity is 24 standard 330 ml cans without ice, or roughly 12 cans with a 1:1 ice ratio.

Construction and Water Behaviour

The liner is the part that determines whether a soft cooler survives a season of use. On SL-I146 the liner is cut as a single piece and closed with high-frequency welded seams, so the internal corners have no needle perforations and no seam tape that can peel once the adhesive sees repeated thermal cycling. Melt-water, condensation and fish slime stay inside the welded bucket rather than migrating into the foam layer, which is the usual failure path on sewn-and-taped coolers: once water reaches the foam, insulation performance drops permanently and the bag begins to hold odour.

The top closure is an airtight zip rather than a water-resistant coil zip, and that changes what the bag can do. With the zip closed, the interior is a sealed welded chamber, so melt-water will not escape if the bag is laid on its side in a car boot, wedged into a boat locker or tipped during loading. Production samples are verified by full water-immersion test, 2+ hours, and the product is rated IPX7. It is not a pressure-rated product: the rating covers immersion at shallow depth, not depth exposure, and the foam layer makes the bag buoyant, so it will float rather than sink if it goes over the side.

The shell wipes clean. TPU laminate has a closed surface with no exposed weave, so blood, sunscreen and salt wipe off with a cloth rather than soaking into the fabric. The same surface property is what allows the material to be high-frequency welded at production speed; coated Oxford cloth will not weld reliably, which is why coolers built from it rely on stitching and tape.

Insulation Performance

Twelve millimetres of closed-cell PE foam on six faces, with the lid insulated to the same thickness as the walls — a detail worth checking on any quote, because lid foam is the first thing removed to hit a target price, and an uninsulated lid costs more retention than thinning the side walls does. In our own trials, a pre-chilled bag loaded at a 1:1 ice-to-can ratio, closed and held at 25 °C ambient out of direct sun, still contained unmelted ice at the 24-hour mark. The airtight zip contributes here as well: it removes the air exchange path along the closure that accounts for a measurable share of heat gain on coil-zip coolers. Results still move substantially with ambient temperature, sun exposure, opening frequency and whether the contents were chilled before loading, so we state the test conditions rather than a bare hour count. Brands needing a specific figure for packaging copy should have it generated under their own protocol; we can run the profile and supply the data with the sample.

Carrying and Daily Use

The webbing handles pass under the base and run continuously up both side panels, so load goes into the strap rather than into the stitch points where a handle meets the fabric — the standard tear point on coolers carrying 15 kg of ice and drink. Bringing the two handles together under the padded hook-and-loop sleeve turns them into a single grip and keeps them clear of the top panel when the bag is open. The removable shoulder strap clips onto moulded D-rings at the upper corners with swivel snap hooks and carries a contrast shoulder pad. The side grab handle is for lifting the bag out of a boot or over a gunwale, where a shoulder strap gets in the way.

Typical use is beverage transport for boating, tailgating, beach days, jobsite lunches and catering runs. The flat welded base and foam-stiffened walls let the bag stand unsupported and stow flat when empty, unlike a rotomoulded hard cooler of comparable capacity, which weighs three to four times as much empty and cannot be collapsed for freight.

Recommended Use

Boating and dockside beverage transport, where an airtight closure keeps melt-water off the deck and the bag floats if it goes overboard; beach and tailgate use on sand or wet concrete; catering and food-delivery runs needing a wipe-clean liner; jobsite crew lunches; car camping where stowed volume matters more than absolute ice retention. Not intended as a dry bag for electronics, and not rated for depth or pressure exposure.

Quality Inspection Standards

Every production run is checked at IQC, IPQC and OQC. The suite covers load testing to 1,500 cycles at rated weight, zipper fatigue to 3,000 cycles, tensile and bonding strength on welded seams, salt-spray on hardware, abrasion on the base band, colour fastness and colour difference against the approved sample, and full water-immersion testing on finished bags. Airtight-zip products additionally go through our customer inspection procedure — unboxing, vacuum extraction, 24-hour static rest and air-leak determination — which catches pinhole weld defects and zip seating faults that a spray test will not reveal. Third-party inspection by SGS or QIMA can be arranged at the buyer's cost.

Product Highlights

Airtight top zip over a single-piece welded food-grade liner, giving an IPX7 rating and leakproof behaviour in any orientation. Twelve millimetres of closed-cell foam on all six faces including the lid. Wrap-around webbing that carries load through the base rather than through handle stitch points. Wipe-clean TPU shell that does not absorb blood, salt or sunscreen. Self-standing when loaded, flat-packing when empty, buoyant when closed. MOQ 300 pieces with Pantone matching across shell, liner and webbing.

Printing and Logo

Screen printing suits solid one- to three-colour marks on TPU and holds up to abrasion and UV. Heat transfer handles gradients and photographic artwork. Welded TPU patches give a tonal, debossed look that matches the construction language of the bag. Woven labels and embroidery are available on webbing and pocket panels — embroidery is placed on sewn components only, never through a welded waterproof wall or across the airtight zip mount. Artwork is required as vector files; we return a digital placement proof before sampling.

OEM / ODM Capability

Sealock has manufactured waterproof and insulated gear for over 20 years, with factories in Guangdong, China and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam — the second site giving brands a non-China origin option where tariff exposure matters. We hold ISO 9001, BSCI, SMETA, Higg, GRS and SCAN, and produce for brands including STANLEY, Hydro Flask, CORDOVA, attwood and West Marine.

High-frequency welding is our best-known capability, but it is not our only one: sewn and taped construction is an equally mature in-house discipline, and a large share of what we ship each month is stitched product with welded structural components. On cooler programmes this matters, because the right answer is often a hybrid — welded liner and base, sewn shell and pocketing — and a factory that only welds will push you toward the wrong construction for your price point. Most demanding requirements can be met, including full ground-up development from a sketch or a competitor sample; complex new tooling adds 20–25 days to the first sample cycle, which is worth building into the launch calendar early.

FAQ

What is the minimum order quantity?

300 pieces per colour. Mixed colours on one purchase order are possible where the total reaches 300 and each colour reaches 100.

What does it cost?

Unit price depends on quantity, insulation thickness, fabric choice, closure type and logo method. Send your target quantity and specification to info@sealock.com.hk and we will quote within one working day.

Can we put our own logo on it?

Yes. Screen print, heat transfer, welded TPU patch, woven label and embroidery are all available, with Pantone matching on shell, liner and webbing. There is no extra logo charge at MOQ; artwork should be supplied as vector files.

How long will ice last?

In our trials a pre-chilled bag at a 1:1 ice ratio, closed and held at 25 °C out of direct sun, still held unmelted ice at 24 hours. Real-world results vary with ambient temperature, sun exposure, opening frequency and whether contents were chilled before loading.

Is it fully waterproof?

Yes, to IPX7. The airtight zip and single-piece welded liner keep water in and out in any orientation, verified by full water-immersion test of 2+ hours. It is not rated for depth or pressure exposure.

Will it float if it goes overboard?

Closed and not fully loaded, yes — the closed-cell foam gives positive buoyancy. It is a cooler, not a flotation device, and must never be used as one.

Does it really hold 24 cans?

24 standard 330 ml cans without ice. With a 1:1 ice ratio, plan on around 12 cans plus ice.

Can it be cleaned after carrying fish or raw food?

Yes. The liner is food-grade welded TPU with no fabric lining and no stitch holes, so it can be rinsed and wiped with mild detergent. Leave the zip open to air-dry before storage.

How is the airtight zip maintained?

Lubricate the zip teeth with a silicone-based stick every few outings and rinse off salt and sand. Dried salt in the closure is the main cause of stiff operation and of the leaks buyers report after a season of beach use. Never force a dry or gritty airtight zip.

What sizes can we order besides 24 cans?

Existing tooling covers 12, 20, 24, 30 and 40 can formats. New sizes or proportions can be tooled, adding 20–25 days to the first sample.

What is the lead time?

Samples in 7–15 days. Production is 30–35 days after sample approval, from either the China or the Vietnam factory.
